How to add 'active' state to current-menu-item on menu?

Hello Frontity community!

I am an absolute newbie to this, so I was poking around this and I managed to fetch my menu, but how do I fetch its items properties that come with WP right out the box, such as ‘current-menu-ancestor’, ‘current-menu-parent’, ‘current-menu-item’? Is it something I have to do manually?
