How do I link to my WordPress pages (not posts) that have a .htm extension in the URL?

I’m using the “Append extensions on Pages” plugin for WordPress for SEO purposes. The plugin adds a “.htm” extension to my URLs. When I try to access any of my pages, I get a 404 error.

Is it possible to link to pages (not posts) that have a .htm extension?

Thanks in advance!

I don’t believe this should have any impact on a frontity site as we are fetching all the content through the REST API

Can you share a repo with a reproduction of this problem?

As a side note, I don’t know about your use case, of course, but adding the .htm extension has no impact on SEO, at least for the google crawler, see:

Hey @adrian.tarango

Apologies for a misleading comment there initially - this would have impact on a frontity site after all because frontity only works with “pretty” permalinks as detailed here: https://docs.frontity.org/getting-started#have-pretty-permalinks-activated

My advice would be to remove the extension if possible as it should have no SEO impact as mentioned
